About

Florists deserve their own operating system.

Most software sold to flower shops is generic small-business software with flowers stamped on top. Generic POS. Generic CRM. Generic chatbot. None of it understands what it means to receive a same-day sympathy order at 11:47 AM on a Tuesday.

A florist is half artist, half operations manager. We wanted to give them an AI that handles the operations side — so they can spend more of the day being an artist.

— Melissa AI founding team

Why agentic, not chat

The first wave of "AI for small business" was chatbots. A chatbot can reply to a customer message. It can't take an order. It can't ask the right follow-up question when an address is missing. It can't know that a sympathy delivery needs the funeral home name and the service start time before the florist can prepare it.

Agentic AI is different. Instead of replying once and waiting, it works through the steps a real intake person would: classifies the intent, asks for what's missing, structures the result, and hands it off — only escalating when human judgment is genuinely needed. That's the model we built Melissa around.

Built for the day, not the demo

We don't believe in the "magic AI" demo. The flower shop owner watching a demo wants to see: does this show up on my Tuesday morning? does it survive Valentine's Day? does my team trust it enough to lean on it? Those are the questions we optimize the product for. Everything else is decoration.

That's why our screens look like operational dashboards, not chat windows. Why our review states are concrete (needs review, ready, in arrangement) instead of abstract. Why we surface what's missing on every order — because missing details are how shops lose revenue, one address at a time.

What we believe

Four principles that shape every decision we make.

Florist-native, not generic SaaS

Built around real florist workflows — sympathy, weddings, holiday rush. Every detail mapped to how the industry actually operates.

Human-in-the-loop by design

We don't believe AI should replace the craft. Melissa handles the operational layer; the florist owns the creative and customer moments.

Calm software, not noisy AI

No hype, no flashy animations, no AI buzzwords. The product should feel like a thoughtful team member, not a demo.

Operational, not decorative

Every screen, every prompt, every notification has to earn its place. If it doesn't make the shop run smoother, we cut it.
